Fighting Poverty and Inequality in Latin America
At the end of the Spring Semester 2015 we were honored to host Dr. Jorge Familiar. Dr. Familiar is Vice President of the World Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean. He is the first Latin American to be appointed to that position in the last 30 years. He is a Mexican economist from the ITAM and has more than 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. The event was organized in partnership between GUGAMS and LAPA.
After Dr. Familiar’s presentation he had an open dialogue with the students in which we discussed the different perspectives of growth and development, the future of the Latin Ameircan region and its relationship with the USA.
